Why build a Nova Sound Wall?

Nova Sound Wall™ was developed in 2000 to offer a proven noise abatement wall system for residential, industrial, and commercial customers. The wall is virtually maintenance free and easy enough to construct that any fence contractor can build it. Our walls are aesthetically pleasing on both sides and are designed to meet local building codes for wind-loading and noise reduction.

Nova Sound Walls™ greatly reduce the noise impact from high traffic volumes and other sources. Because of their ability to absorb sound energy they don’t reflect as much noise as most other wall systems. The inherent properties of the Nova Sound Wall™ help in its acoustic properties:

  • Two independent concrete Novabrik® veneer faces with a mass of over 55 lbs/ft²
  • Air-gap between veneer faces of 5-1/2”
  • Irregular surface for absorbing/dissipating energy

Other features of the Nova Sound Wall™ that other sound barriers don’t have:

  • Framing system allows for concealed wiring for lights and electrical outlets
  • Hollow framing can be filled with insulation for even more sound attenuation
  • Both sides of the wall can have a completely different appearance
  • Repairs are virtually “invisible” because undamaged bricks are removed and randomly mixed with the new bricks

President and owner, Kenneth Mann, saw a need for a better sound wall system when he was the Project Manager for the City of Greenwood Village Colorado overseeing the construction of conventional brick masonry walls. Ken is a 20-year Air Force veteran in the Civil Engineering career field. He has owned his own construction company and is a skilled masonry contractor. He is also a Professionally Registered Civil Engineer in the State of Colorado.
